Safety, Designed Into Every Introduction

From private introductions to public venues and limited information sharing, Luvo is built to prioritize discretion, comfort, and real-world connection.

How Luvo Ensures Safety

Safety is not a feature of Luvo—it is foundational to how introductions are made.

In a world where dating has increasingly moved online, we’ve taken a different approach. One that prioritizes privacy, real-world interaction, and controlled environments over profiles, images, and open-ended communication between strangers.

Below is how we think about safety—and how that philosophy shapes every introduction.

Introductions in Public, Social Environments

All first meetings are arranged in established, public venues—typically bars, restaurants, or similar social settings.

These environments are intentionally chosen to ensure:

  • Other people are present

  • Staff are nearby and aware of the space

  • The setting is active, visible, and comfortable

  • You can arrive and leave independently at any time

We do not arrange first meetings in private, remote, or uncontrolled environments such as residences, parks, beaches, or isolated locations.

Where possible, venues are aware that introductions are taking place, adding an additional layer of awareness to the experience.

Limited Information Shared in Advance

Before a first meeting, only minimal personal information is shared—typically first names.

We do not provide full names, contact details, or identifiable personal information prior to an introduction.

This allows individuals to meet in a controlled, neutral environment before deciding whether they would like to share more.

A Real-World Approach to Evaluating People

Luvo does not conduct background checks.

While background checks are often positioned as a safety measure, they can be incomplete, outdated, or misleading—and no database can fully represent a person or predict behavior.

Instead, introductions are informed by real-world interactions and observed behavior within our broader community.

This may include:

  • Participation in live events and social settings

  • Observed interactions with others

  • Feedback from hosts, staff, and participants

  • Ongoing presence within our ecosystem

We believe how someone shows up in real life is often more meaningful than what appears in a report.

Structured Introductions, Not Open Messaging

Unlike many platforms, Luvo does not facilitate open messaging between strangers prior to meeting.

Introductions are coordinated intentionally, with a clear time and place, reducing prolonged exposure or unnecessary back-and-forth communication before an initial meeting.

Your Control, Always

You are always in control of how your experience unfolds.

  • You may leave a date at any time

  • You are never obligated to share personal information

  • You decide if and when you would like to continue seeing someone

If at any point you feel uncomfortable, we encourage you to contact us directly so we can take appropriate action.

A More Considered Approach to Privacy

Photos have become a common part of how people are introduced in modern dating.

We’ve chosen not to rely on them.

In today’s world, images can reveal far more than intended. With widely available tools, a single photo can often be traced to a person’s full name, social profiles, workplace, and other personal details.

For that reason, Luvo does not circulate or share client photos as part of the introduction process.

We believe that exchanging identifiable images between strangers—before any real interaction has taken place—can create unnecessary exposure and risk. In our view, it’s a practice that carries more risk than most people realize.

Instead, introductions are made in person, in comfortable, public venues where connection can form naturally through conversation and presence.

Only after meeting, and only if both individuals choose to continue, are personal details shared.

We encourage anyone using any dating or matchmaking service to be thoughtful about when and how their photos are shared, and to approach that decision with care.

A Thoughtful, Intentional Experience

Safety at Luvo is not based on a single tool or checkbox.

It is built into the structure of the experience itself:

  • Real-world introductions

  • Public, controlled environments

  • Limited information sharing

  • Observed behavior over static data

It’s a quieter, more intentional way to meet—designed to reduce unnecessary exposure while allowing real connection to form naturally.
